Knowledge Assets
In 'the knowledge age', all organisations
need to develop and use knowledge. Creativity, competitiveness
and efficiency are all enhanced when Knowledge Assets
are created, organised and maintained effectively..
My advice is designed to support those seeking to
develop or invest in knowledge assets, typical applications are;
- Helping those new to knowledge based working move quickly from indtroduction to effectiveness
- Sharing key process knowledge- making tacit knowledge
explicit
- Assessing existing practices for improvement and learning- employing
my'3 legged learning review' process- this involves learning before doing, learning while doing, and learning after doing.
As a further illustration, if any of the following situations apply
to your staff, your Knowledge Assets need to be
upgraded;
- You experience difficulty finding the information needed easily
- Time and money is being wasted repeating errors or reworking
- We are not learning effectively from our successes and failures
- Teams are doing similar things but they do not share or communicate
well
- There is no process for continuous improvement of our key processes,
'double loop learning'
- Customer information is not coherent, shared or 'clean'
- Customer service is suffering as knowledge is not shared well and instantly available
